Construction on a new shopping center in Damonte Ranch was announced on Monday.

Lewis Retail Centers at the Damonte Ranch Town Center will be the 17th built in the center and will add 13,200 square feet of retail space. It's located between the Office Depot and the newest Safeway store, set to open in May.

The new building is more than 60 percent pre-leased, leaving 5,200 square feet available. Nearly 2,500 square feet is designed to accommodate one or two restaurants, with a grease interceptor and patio area.

Completion is expected in the fall.

Damonte Ranch Town Center will have three major anchors, including RC Willey, Home Depot and the new Safeway.

The town center includes 500,000 square feet and is located at the corner of Steamboat Parkway and Damonte Ranch Parkway in South Reno.

The location has access to and from I-580 and sits adjacent to the Southeast Connector.

The center is part of the 2,000 acre Damonte Ranch master-planned community with an estimate 21,350 households within a three-mile radius of the center.

Lewis Retail Centers has three final pads available for ground lease, sale or build-to-suit tenants directly adjacent to Steamboat Parkway as well. Current tenants include CVS Pharmacy, 7-Eleven, McDonalds, and more.

Lewis Retail Centers is part of the Lewis Group of Companies, one of the nation's largest privately held real estate companies. It has been in business for over 60 years.
