On Monday, students shaved their heads as part of a preview event for the St. Baldrick's "Shave for the Brave" fundraiser.

Five students and three staff members at the Academy of Arts, Careers and Technology (AACT) shaved their heads to support the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation (NNCCF). 

According to the Washoe County School District, over $5,000 was raised during the event.

St. Baldrick's Foundation and NNCCF have shaved over 4000 local heads.
