As the temperatures continue to rise, many people will need their air conditioning units functioning properly.
With air pollutants such as dust and pollen, it is important to clean your unit.
Regular maintenance for minor issues will save people a lot of time and money.
"Prolonging issues can just cause disaster and, you know, having your system maintained for peak efficiency, safety, or just indoor air quality are all big important steps," said Zachary Kunz, a maintenance technician with Sierra Air Inc.
Zachary Kunz recommends that people get their heating and air conditioning units serviced at least twice a year.
This will prepare your unit for the season and allow technicians to spot smaller issues that come up.
Also, having proper insulation in your home and regularly cleaning air filters will allow your home to hold cool air for longer periods of time.
One homeowner says that doing projects at home to limit heat had some success as well.
"Preparing for it, I got my windows tinted, that helped. Then I got curtains on the outside of the window, that helped. Then the best, the one I am doing right now, is putting up a gazebo right in front of that just to block the sun," said Dave Brown.
Some H.V.A.C. companies also say that schedules are starting to fill up, so if you need to make an appointment, you should do so sooner rather than later.
