UPDATE NOV 10

California Governor Gavin Newsom announced a State of Emergency in Mono County to support recovery efforts after the Pack Fire.

The State of Emergency was proclaimed on December 9, aiming to expedite the cleanup process of debris and household hazardous waste, and also to provide additional state resources to the area.

According to Governor Newsom's Office, "The U.S. Small Business Administration has also approved California’s request for financial assistance to impacted community members, making low-interest disaster loans available to homeowners, renters, and businesses affected by the Pack Fire."

After the Pack Fire was fully contained on December 3, the blaze destroyed 30 residential and commercial structures, as well as six other buildings.

You can read the full proclamation here. People can also apply for the low interest loans here.

Firefighters are working to reach full containment while families in Mono County are still recovering.
