Wintry driving conditions have brought chain controls to many roads in the Sierra on Friday night, along with some road closures.

As of 9 p.m., chain controls were up on I-80 and Mt. Rose Highway.

Big rigs are being turned around on I-80 due to traction problems over Donner Summit, according to Caltrans.

Chain controls are also in place on Kingsbury Grade and U.S. 50, as well as State Route 89 and State Route 88 in California.

Portions of State Routes 89 and 88 are also closed due to the weather.
