Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe

Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe has used its off-season to add more recreational offerings at the resort.

New additions include the Wildslide Tahoe Tubing Center and expanded snowmaking systems, according to a release from Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe.

In all, the improvements cost $6 million.

The tubing center will feature up to 20 snow tubing lanes that are 750-feet in length and served by a dual conveyor lift. It will also feature a new lodge.

Snowmaking enhancements include a third well that will augment the current system for maximum throughput, and another fixed snowmaking tower gun.

The resort is also welcoming the return of high school and NCAA races, and introducing educational “Snow Days” field trips with curriculum designed for K-12 students.

“With the investments that have been made this year, we’re excited to welcome new and returning guests back, and to offer them an exhilarating experience and some of the best, most consistent snow conditions in the region,” said Mike Pierce, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe marketing and sales director.

The resort is targeting an opening day of November 8. The tubing center is anticipated to open over the Thanksgiving holiday.
