A suspect has been arrested after leading a California Highway Patrol officer on a chase through a construction zone on Thursday afternoon.
It happened on State Route 89 south of Inspiration Point, according to a release from the CHP.
A CHP officer pursued a gold Tesla truck driven by Anthony James Levon Jr. on State Route 89 southbound from Emerald Bay Road.
The officer was working with Caltrans when they were told the truck ran two separate closures north of Emerald Bay while speeding.
The officer stopped the truck, and when she got out, Levon allegedly sped away, running a red light.
A chase ensued, and Levon lost control of the truck and hit a tree.
He was arrested and taken to Barton Memorial Hospital due to his possible injuries.
