A 15-year-old boy had his electric motorcycle impounded after a short chase involving the California Highway Patrol on Thursday.
The teen was riding the bike in a reckless manner, doing wheelies, crossing in front of traffic on a busy highway, and speeding, according to a Facebook post from the CHP - South Lake Tahoe.
The teen didn't stop and attempted to evade officers when they tried to pull him over.
The rider eventually stopped after a short chase and was released to a parent.
The electric motorcycle was impounded and must remain impounded for at least 48 hours.
The rider could be facing charges including evading police, reckless driving, being unlicensed, no insurance, no registration, no motorcycle helmet, as he was wearing a bike helmet at the time, and has dealt with the South Lake Tahoe Police Department for similar activities in the past.
