Two hikers were rescued by deputies in El Dorado County on Saturday after getting stranded on Flagpole Peak.
In a Facebook post, the Sheriff's Office said two Lake Tahoe Basin locals became stuck at the top of the mountain and could not go back the way they came.
The El Dorado County Search and Rescue Technical Rope Team was sent in the ECSO's Echo-1 helicopter to rescue the stranded hikers.
Echo 1 was able to conduct a hoist operation and carry both hikers to safety.
Deputies are reminding locals to plan ahead before hiking challenging terrain and make sure they can double back if something goes wrong.
