Some residents living in Markleeville will lose water service for about 10 hours next Thursday.
The interruption is planned for next Thursday between 8am and 6pm in Marklee Village, according to Markleeville Water Company.
The Water System Improvement Project aims to remove pipe on private property and increase access to the Pleasant Valley water tank.
The company says a disinfection process requires a shutdown before putting the new pipe into service.
The specific areas include Hot Springs Road, all side streets from Pleasant Valley Road, and non-city-owned property on Timber Lane.
According to the company, the service interruption will last about ten hours.
The company also says drinking water from tap or being able to flush toilets will not be available during that time.
Officials recommend storing bottled water for the duration of the shutdown.
