Storey County Fire Protection, Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue, and North Lyon County Fire crews were able to knock down a tractor trailer that caught fire on I-80 near the USA Parkway Exit, in Fernley.

Officials say the truck was carrying paper products and the fire initially spread to the nearby wildland.

However, the wildland fire was put out. 

One lane of traffic was closed on Eastbound I-80 as crews knocked down the flames. 

It is unknown how the fire was started.Â
