TMFR does not collect or dispose of hazardous materials from personal households.

To dispose of latex paints, remove the lid and let the paint dry out, then throw away in your regular trash.

For oil-based and spray paints, wood preservative, and stains, contact Waste Management.

Oily Rags

Rags covered in oil or another flammable liquid should be set on a concrete or asphalt surface away from other flammable materials and left to dry for one to three days. Then you should place the rag in a seal container and dispose of the container in your trash. You can also place them in a sealed container with water for a few days.

Medication

Grind up pills and place them in your regular trash. You can also pour liquid medication into your trash.

If you find it on your personal property, leave it where you found it and contact a hazardous materials disposal company.

If you find it in public, leave it as you found it and contact 911.

Compressed Gas Cylinders

Compressed gas cylinders should be taken to a propane supplier or other compressed gas supplier for service, refill and disposal.

Fireworks, Ammunition, Reloading Supplies

Fill a bucket with water and submerge the fireworks for 24 hours. After 24 hours, wrap them in a trash bag and contact Waste Management for collection and disposal.
