Detectives with the Regional Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEAT) Unit have additionally booked Axel Lopez on 20 counts related to the possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Lopez was initially arrested on July 8 during a regional HEAT operation. Authorities say that arrest stemmed from an investigation in which Lopez allegedly attempted to meet a 15-year-old female juvenile for sexual acts.
During the continuing investigation, detectives say they identified more than 1,000 images and videos suspected of depicting child sexual abuse. They say the 20 additional charges are based on 20 videos, each depicting a separate child victim.
