The Elko Police Department is warning residents of recent gift card scams.
They say many scams have been going around where the scammer pretends to be a law enforcement officer and asks the victim to purchase gift cards to pay for an arrest warrant.
They say nobody from the Elko Police Department will ever contact someone asking for gift cards.
