A south Reno home is now unlivable after flames tore through the garage and attic early Wednesday afternoon.Â
Reno Fire department says the fire spread from the attic to the garage - but was contained after calling in additional engines in.
They say the homeowner suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the cause was from a fryer malfunction after the owner tested a propane burner to fry a turkey.
A plume of black smoke can be seen across much of the valley.
