Firefighters have stopped forward progress and are now mopping up a brush fire on Rattlesnake Mountain.

The Barron Fire started around noon near Double R Boulevard and Maestro Drive and burned a little more than 11 acres before fire crews got it under control.

The fire flared up close to offices on Reno Corporate Drive.

One woman who works near there said she sent her employees home once it started.

"We have a lot of essential documents that we kind of have to keep track of so I, immediately what I did was pack up those essential documents and just out of an abundance of caution and safety for our staff, kind of sent everyone home," says Sylvia Phillips, works at Vector Clinical Trials.

The fire did not damaged any nearby buildings.

The cause is still under investigation.
