Davis Creek Regional Park will stay closed for the 2025 season while Washoe County continues restoration and rebuilding efforts after last summer’s Davis Fire.
In a Facebook post, Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space says, “unfortunately, the Davis Fire caused major infrastructure damage which will take some time to replace. We appreciate while we recover.”
While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office and TMFR are still seeking information on the fire's origin.
The Sept. 7 fire started around 2:30 p.m. near Davis Creek Regional Park and was later fully contained on Sept. 25.
The 5,824-acre fire destroyed several homes, businesses and outbuildings.
TMFR and @WashoeSheriff are leading the investigation into the cause of #DavisFire.
