Firefighters are battling a fire west of southwest Reno above Hunter Creek Trail.
It’s in the Mt. Rose Wilderness area with no road access. Four rappelers were inserted, and they were supported with some engines and worked through the night.
An air attack, tankers and a helicopter worked the fire Saturday morning and will continue through the night depending on conditions.
The fire has burned an estimated 8 acres and is 10% contained.
The Michael D. Thompson Trailhead (Hunter Falls) is closed until further notice. You're being asked to avoid the area.
