Fire crews have stopped forward progress on a wildfire burning in the Spring Creek area.
The Green Crest Fire is currently estimated at three to five acres, according to a post on Facebook from the Elko County Fire Protection District.
Power has been temporarily shut down from the Elko Substation to Lamoille in accordance with utility safety procedures.
Fire personnel are working with NV Energy to restore power to affected areas as soon as possible.
Crews will remain on scene late into the evening and may continue operations into tomorrow to strengthen containment lines, extinguish hot spots, and monitor for any remaining fire activity.
People are asked to avoid the area and to follow directions from emergency personnel.
