An investigation is underway after a fire broke out on BLM land northwest of Gerlach near the California line on Tuesday night.
Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue say they responded to the 11.82-acre Steer Fire around 8:30 p.m.
Fire crews say there's no risk to private property.
Crews are continuing to assist with clean up and monitor the fire.
