As firefighting efforts continue on the Conner Fire, Skydance Helicopters, a local business located in Minden, was called out to help.
While they normally send out helicopters to other states to help fight fires, we were told this has been a new experience for the staff.
"It's really nice to be able to stay at our home base and support our town, support where we live. Everyone grew up here, we all live here. It's the first time we've been able to fight a fire, support our town that we live in," says owner Jason Legge.
Skydance uses a Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter which we were told can carry either a 900-gallon bucket or a 1,000-gallon tank.
The helicopter had just returned from fighting fires in both Oregon and Washington before the Conner Fire broke out.
