The Oling Fire burning in Wadsworth is now 100 percent contained, Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue reports.

In a post on X, TMFR says the fire has been officially mapped at 22 acres.

Firefighters will patrol the fire overnight.

Update (5/21/2025, 2:05 p.m.):

A wildfire that prompted evacuations near Wadsworth is now 80% contained. 

Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue say the Oling Fire started Tuesday afternoon near Cantlon Drive and grew to about 25 acres in size, but was later revised to 14 acres. 

TMFR says crews will continue to mop-up through the day and on Thursday. 

No buildings have been damaged and no injuries are reported. 

The cause remains under investigation.

According to a new X post from Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue, forward progress on the Oling Fire has been stopped.

Officials say evacuations were lifted at 9 p.m.

A new update from Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue has been posted to X.

The size of the Oling Fire has been updated to approximately 25 acres.

Evacuations have been lifted on the north side of I-80, and no structure loss or injuries have been reported.

According to a recent X post from Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue, the Oling Fire is now 30% contained.

Officials say that fire crews will be on scene overnight to do heavy mop-up work.

A wildfire in Wadsworth is threatening buildings and forcing evacuations on Tuesday evening.

According to a spokesperson from Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue, the fire has burned between seven and 10 acres and is forcing evacuations along Cantlon Drive.

On X, TMFR says that crews are making good progress on the fire and that no buildings have been lost.

The fire, dubbed the Oling Fire, is happening in Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and Storey County jurisdictions.

Our crew on scene confirms that Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue and the Reno Fire Department are responding.

I-80 through the Wadsworth corridor is slow going, according to TMFR. People are advised to find alternate routes.
