With storms rolling in, Incline Village residents spent the day preparing.Â
From picking up ice melt to getting extra fuel for snow removal equipment, locals said they were prepared for the day and really are any time, since they're used to storms hitting the area a little harder than down in the valley.
People we spoke with said they try to avoid being caught out in winter weather and advised their neighbors to stay home if they can.
However, they said if someone does need to go out, they should have quality tires and chains available.
NDOT let us know they've actually been working for a few days, making sure roadway salt, sand, and brine have been stockpiled.
NDOT says highway crews have pre-treated state roads in preparation for potential early morning precipitation and freezing temperatures.
