Kids 17-years old or younger can ride the bus for free during summer break.
The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County, starting this Saturday, June 8 until the new school year begins in August is offering free rides to our communities youth.
The free service applies to all RTC RIDE fixed routes and will run seven days a week during normal RTC hours.
Any child under the age of six will require a parent or guardian to be present.
“Now that kids are on summer break, they don’t always have the same options to get around town as they do during the school year,” said Jim Gee, Director of Public Transportation for RTC. “We know a lot of younger students will need transit to gain access to meals, high school students to get to work, and all students to visit family.”
