The University of Nevada, Reno, chose to honor 2 News Nevada's very own Kristen Remington this year with the W. Clark Santini Cup Award.

It is given each year to a person who, through effective oral communication, has brought significant benefits to the community as a whole.

"No matter what career choice you make, being able to communicate effectively is going to be important to you not only professionally but even personally," said Bill Isaeff, Chairman of the Robert S. Griffin/W. Clark Santini Memorial Endowment Fund.

The Fund says it chose Kristen based on her investigative reporting and Health Watch segments, which help our community stay informed.]

"I've learned a lot of things," said Remington. "It's important to be accurate, it's important to be precise, it's important to be a clear communicator."

The University of Nevada, Reno Debate and Communication Studies Awards also celebrate students, professors, and the Nevada Debate Team.
