The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) announces upcoming lane reductions on Interstate 580 over Lakeview Hill in north Carson City.
Drivers will see lane reductions in both directions between the North Carson Street exit 8 and south Eastlake Boulevard exit from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, Oct. 15 and 16.
According to NDOT, drivers on the southbound side are advised not to detour using Alt. U.S. 395 in the Lakeview Hill area because Alt. U.S. 395 will merge into the same work zone.
The speed limit will also be reduced to 55 mph. Drivers are also advised by NDOT to allow extra travel time because of expected delays.
Drivers are advised to avoid traveling through the work zone if possible.
NDOT says the road work is scheduled to avoid the busiest hours to have less impact for morning and evening travelling.
