Organizers and locals have wrapped up celebrating the soft reopening of Midtown's newest local business, the Best Bet Motor Lodge.

It is a fully renovated 21-room boutique hotel that is owned by the same people who rehabilitated the Lincoln Lounge into The Jesse Hotel and Estella Tacos.

While this is a hotel for guests, it also serves as a new hang out spot in Midtown for the public, similar to how The Jesse is built with a bar and lobby. But one of the owners says that they have more plans in the future for locals and guests.

"We're adding a sauna club," said Chris Reilly, owner, of Best Bet Motor Lodge. "So, what that is it's a sauna wellness component for hotel guests first and then eventually we're really excited to do local day passes and memberships."

Thanks to the help from Plumas Bank, Reilly says they managed to get the funding and place a bet on the building.

From there they partnered with WCC Design Build who helped renovate the building and design all the rooms that are now open and available for booking.

"If someone is interested in staying here, we have a range of room sizes, so your standard queens start around $145 per night," he said.

He adds that the deluxe rooms and king and queen suites can range anywhere $170 to $225 per night. Reilly tells us about some of the amenities which are also open to the public and not just the guests.

"We wanted to create a really inviting lobby bar and so we have the fire pits downstairs that are similar to what we built at Abbey's Highway 40, and just make it a comfortable place to lounge at night," he said.

Between the location and their amenities, Reilly says this is the perfect spot for travelers and locals looking for a quiet staycation wanting to avoid casinos and busy resorts.

Reilly says, "Part of our goal with this project was to really bring in the neighborhood. We're in such an incredible area in Midtown and so people are steps away from great restaurants, coffee, shops, and night life."
