With the Burning Man festival this weekend, people from all over Nevada, the United States and even the World travel to Reno before heading out to the Black Rock Desert to celebrate on the playa.

But Burners have to get the right outfit before heading out there, which leads them to a local clothing store, Junkee Clothing Exchange. 

The store has become a hub for Burners to come and gear up before the festival, with flashy outfits, accessories, and costumes, there is almost assuredly something for everyone.

We got to speak with some of the stylists about how important this time of the year is, not only to employees of Junkee, but to the customers. 

"We get clothes from all over the world too, because people are bringing them in to get the new stuff from Burning Man," said Stylist Viktorya Barnes. "Not only are we meeting the people and getting to talk to them, but we're getting to see the clothes from all over."

Barnes says this time of year is incredibly busy for the shop, and this weekend in particular brings in so many people, whether they're looking for outfits, adding accessories, or trying a whole new style.

She says that the numbers ramp up this week and will continue to ramp up until Burning Man is over.

Barnes says she loves to work at Junkee Clothing Exchange because there is something for everyone, and not many stores have that quality. 

Manager of the store Heather Puckett also touched on this special time of year.

"It's honestly my favorite time of the whole year," she said. "Its such good energy in here."

She mentions that this time of the year is like Christmas to Junkee.

Puckett has worked for the store for twelve years and loves to see the fashion evolution every year, as well as meet new people and help them accessorize.

She touched on how important their business is as a Burning Man staple.

"I love that we're like a Burning Man staple for people," she said. "Because we have a lot of used clothing, so it's not being put in a landfill. A lot of it, you know, is being reused." 

Clearly this Junkee isn't just any regular clothing shop, and people from all over find a special joy in accessorizing, styling and preparing for all kinds of fun to be had out in the desert.Â
