A California man was arrested in Virginia City on Sunday and is facing many drug-related charges.

In an online post, the Storey County Sheriff's Office said that on March 2 at around 5:45 p.m., deputies were called in regards to a suspicious car and some people who were allegedly trying to sell drugs to customers of several nearby saloons in the area of C Street in Virginia City.

Three adult men were approached by deputies upon their arrival; one of them, 23-year-old Dallas Weaver, of Grass Valley, California, was discovered to be in possession of approximately 43 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and approximately 13 grams of methamphetamine.

Upon further investigation, deputies located drug paraphernalia and other items relative to sales of illegal drugs inside Weaver's car.

Weaver was placed under arrest and taken to the Storey County Detention Facility on the following charges: unlawful possession for sale of flunitrazepam, gamma-hydroxybutyrate, and schedule I or II substance; possession of schedule I or II controlled substance 42 grams or more; possession of schedule I or II substance (less than 14 grams 1st or 2nd offense); and use or possession of drug paraphernalia with a total bail amount of $50,250.
