The Churchill County Sheriff's Office got a pleasant surprise a few days ago when someone called offering to donate to their K9 program.

A woman identified in a Facebook post from the Sheriff's Office as Miss Margie offered to donate $20,000 to help the program.

In their post, the Sheriff's Office described her as a kind and generous soul who is also a big supporter of K9 programs and the difference they make in communities.

On Wednesday, the 18th, K9 handler Noel Ugalde and K9 Tokos, along with the administration of the Sheriff’s Office met with Miss Margie who presented a check for the K0 program.

"Miss Margie, we are extremely grateful for the generosity and compassion shown to us through this most gracious gift," said the post in part. "Thank you is hardly enough to say for we are blessed by your kind and generous spirit and the people of Churchill County are in your debt as we will utilize these funds to assist with and enhance our narcotics detection and suppression efforts."
