Canvass of primary election vote

The Washoe County Board of County Commissioners certified the Canvass of the Vote on Thursday.

The 4-1 vote took place during a public meeting on Thursday. Commissioner Jeanne Herman opposed it.

The canvass is an administrative step that must be taken before the State of Nevada finalizes the statewide results.

The Washoe County Registar of Voters Andrew McDonald gave a presentation to commissioners and also explained why 15,000 mail ballots were undelivered - they were sent to voters who had not updated their addresses and cannot be fowarded.

Along with Washoe County, all other counties conducted their canvasses of the vote Wednesday and Thursday along with the Cities of Reno and Sparks.
