The Winnemucca Rural Fire District responded to a report of a barrel fire that spread to the surrounding area last Monday evening.
Fire units quickly put out the fire, and the Humboldt Sheriff's Office was called, according to a Facebook post from the WRFD.
A resident received a $355 citation for an illegal burn following the incident.
The Fire District reminds the public that a burn ban is still in effect for Humboldt County.
