The Parks and Rec department of the City of Reno is expanding its Rolling Recreation program, adding Barbara Bennett Park.

The Rolling Recreation trailer is running an eight-week program from October 1 through November 27, during after-school hours and Saturday mornings.

Specifically, the program will run from Tuesday-Friday from 3 - 6 p.m., expanded hours Wednesday from 1 - 6 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Barbara Bennett Park is located at 400 Island Avenue in Reno.

The trailer offers parkgoers many activities, including (but not limited to):

  • Yard games
  • Basketball
  • Football
  • Plastic axe throwing
  • Cornhole
  • Glow-in-the-dark night games
  • Telescopes
  • Dodgeballs
  • Video games

"Fall in our area still leaves a lot of appetite for continued outdoor activities," says Nathan Ullyot, Parks and Recreation Director. "We are excited to continue to offer these safe and staffed opportunities for families."
