The Reno Fire Department (RFD) was called out to a fire in the area of Kietzke Lane and Vassar Street Saturday night.
RFD was called to 1435 Radcliffe Drive at 9:33 p.m. on Saturday night for a report of a house fire.
Firefighters arrived on scene and found an attic fire in the home.
Crews quickly placed salvage covers on items in the attic to attempt to save some of the homeowner's belongings, after which they were able to knock down the ceiling and extinguish the fire.
Power and gas were shut down to the affected home while crews addressed the fire in the attic.
RFD says that a total of 27 firefighters were on scene to assist.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
