The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County Board of Commissioners has unanimously selected Dale Keller to become the next RTC Executive Director. The appointment is pending negotiation and execution of an employment contract for Board approval.
“Dale has a proven track record in our state and our region,” Commissioner Alexis Hill, RTC Board Chair said. “Many constituents recognize his leadership and support his appointment. His experience, dedication and familiarity with transportation in our region make him the best candidate for the job. I look forward to working with him to continue RTC’s success.”
Keller is currently the RTC Deputy Executive Director and Director of Engineering. He joined the RTC in 2019, following a career with the Nevada Department of Transportation. Keller has more than 15 years of experience leading major transportation improvement projects including the design and management of major interstate, expressway and arterial projects.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as RTC’s Executive Director,” Keller said. “I look forward to the continued success we provide for Reno, Sparks and Washoe County.”
Keller will succeed Bill Thomas as RTC’s Executive Director, who is retiring October 30. His selection comes after a national search that generated more than 100 applicants.
Keller is one of three finalists that the RTC Board interviewed during Friday’s Board Meeting.
