There is now a new place to enjoy the arcade in the Biggest Little City.

Dave & Buster's opened its new location at the Shayden Summit in south Reno on Monday.

General Manager Drew Maheras says Reno has been ready for Dave & Buster's for quite some time.

"I heard a rumor that about ten years ago, there was a rumor that started that Dave and Buster's was coming to Reno, and that kind of never happened," said Maheras.

Maheras says about 150 Reno locals were hired for their opening crew.

The new location features over 120 arcade games, a sports bar, and two game suites - one for interactive darts, and another for interactive shuffleboard. Maheras says they're a semi-private area with some added benefits.

"It comes with an area where you can see the rest of the building," Maheras says, "but it's kind of isolated as far as traffic. And you'll get a designated server and those kinds of things," he said.

The sports bar features a 40-foot screen spanning the length of the cocktail lounge. The screen has a special feature that Maheras can take advantage of.

"I can turn that screen into three giant projectors or 12 separate programs," Maheras says.

The GM is excited about bringing a new destination for everyone to south Reno.

"We focus on elevating the guest experience," he said. "We want to reignite the heart and soul of hospitality here."

Dave & Buster's has some new and exclusive games in Reno, such as Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars and Hot Wheels: Victory Lap.

Maheras says the games are just one thing that brings people in.

"It's the ultimate place to eat, drink, play and watch sports all under one roof," Maheras says.

The grand opening took place at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 28.

Earlier, we reported that the first 100 guests at Dave & Buster’s Reno grand opening would receive free game play for the year, based on information provided by the company. The company has since apologized for the confusion and clarified that the correct offer is free game play for the day, not for the year.
