A person has died after a crash between a car and a pedestrian along Cassaza Drive near South Wells Avenue on Wednesday evening.
It happened just after 6:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Reno Police Department.
An SUV was heading west on Casazza with their vision impaired by sunlight when they hit the pedestrian, a man who was jaywalking at the time.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is unknown at this time, according to the RPD release.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Impairment and speed are not suspected as factors in the crash.
The Reno Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team is handling the investigation.
