There is no outstanding threat to the community at this time.

On Sunday, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office received reports that a person was shot in Sun Valley. 

Officials say the victim was shot while in a moving vehicle, but they don't know if that person was driving or not.

"The Sheriff's Office did push out a request to the Sun Valley community to stay inside their residence while that suspect was still outstanding out of an immense safety in not knowing exactly where that suspect was at the time the call came out," stated Kristen Vietti, Sergeant, Washoe County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies quickly found the suspect near 400 Summerhill drive in Sun Valley, and they were taken into custody.

The area is clear now and there is no threat to the public.

The sheriff's office said the person who was shot was rushed to the hospital, but they don't yet know the extent of their injuries.

As of now, the suspect's identity has not been released.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office cannot confirm exactly where the shooting happened.
