Drivers will continue to see road closures near the Sparks and Baring intersection while crews continue their work on the Sparks Boulevard project.
To speed up construction and achieve an earlier completion date than the original estimation of August 3, the following traffic impacts will remain in effect:
- Baring Blvd. will be closed on both the east and west sides of the Sparks Blvd. intersection.
- Traffic will not be allowed to cross Sparks Blvd. using Baring Blvd.
- No left or right turns from Sparks Blvd. onto Baring Blvd. will be permitted.
- Sparks Blvd. will remain open with one lane of traffic in each direction

A portion of Baring Boulevard will close on Friday as part of the ongoing Sparks Boulevard project.
Baring Boulevard will temporarily close on both the east and west sides of the Sparks Boulevard intersection to reconstruct the intersection as part of the project.
Sparks Boulevard will remain open to through traffic, and drivers will be able to access nearby neighborhoods and businesses.
"This work represents another significant milestone in improving one of Sparks' key transportation corridors," said Jeffrey Wilbrecht, RTC engineering manager. "We appreciate the public's patience as crews complete this phase of construction to enhance safety and mobility for everyone who travels through the area."
The Sparks Boulevard Capacity Project will widen Sparks Boulevard, reconstruct intersections, upgrade drainage infrastructure and improve safety to drivers, pedestrians and cyclists.
The project is expected to be complete by the summer of next year.
