UPDATE
According to the Tahoe Night Monsters, the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) announced that a tentative deal was reached on a new collective bargaining agreement.
The Tahoe Night Monsters also say this agreement remains subject to approval by the PHPA’s ECHL membership and approval by the ECHL Board of Governors.
According to the team, players will report to their teams and prepare to return to play, pending approval.
Officials say the collective bargaining agreement still needs to be ratified.

The Tahoe Knights Monsters and the ECHLÂ say all of its players are being forced to go on strike, causing them to postpone Saturday night's game in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The union, however, is making a stance for what they're trying to achieve.
PHPA, the union, says because of the leagues unfair labor practices, they are forced to strike in order to protect the integrity of the bargaining process.
Executive Director Brian Ramsey of PHPA also says for several months, they have been engaging in talks with the league. Ramsey also added they are ready to negotiate, and to mitigate any disruptions of the season.

According to the ECHL's website, it made its final offer on Christmas Day.
The league said, "We strongly encouraged union leadership to submit our offer to a vote of its membership, but we do not believe that happened."
The Knight Monsters hopes to have a team ready to play its next scheduled game.
