A Carson City man reported missing after going on a hunting trip in Elko County has been found.
Joshua Gansberg was reported to be hunting near Merritt Mountain in northern Elko County. He had not been heard from since Wednesday, November 20th, which concerned his family according to a post from the Elko County Sheriff's Office on Facebook.
A search and rescue team began looking for Gansberg on Sunday the 24th after being notified that he was overdue.
On the 25th a helicopter joined the search and spotted Gansberg hiking up the east side of Merritt Mountain just before he reached cell service to call for help.
Gansberg's truck had slid into a ditch and was disabled where there was no cell service around five miles from where he was found.
It is unknown if he suffered any injuries while missing.
The ECSO credits his family's knowledge and ability to provide GPS coordinates for his possible location as being crucial in the search and his quick recovery.
