Expecting families in Reno are invited to a free Community Baby Shower happening today, hosted by Northern Nevada HOPES and United Healthcare Health Plan of Nevada, with a focus on maternal and pediatric health.
The event is taking place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Stacie Mathewson Community Wellness Center, located on the third floor at 580 W. 5th Street in Reno.
Organizers say the baby shower is designed to connect local families with vital resources and community support.
Attendees can explore educational booths offering health information, enjoy games and prizes, and receive giveaways available for early arrivals.
The first 50 people to arrive will receive free diapers, and the first 20 women will receive “Mama Care Kits.”
Participants also have a chance to win a stroller and car seat combo.
The event is free and open to the public, aiming to assist families, especially those in need, by providing access to health education and services in a welcoming environment.
