A Reno man was arrested after a monthlong undercover fentanyl investigation in the Reno and Sparks metropolitan area, where detectives say they seized fentanyl and found a loaded gun.
28-year-old Damion Thompson was taken into custody following an investigation by the Regional Narcotics Unit and Northern Nevada Drug Task Force. K-9 units from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office and Reno Police Department also assisted.
During the investigation, detectives said they observed Thompson conducting numerous hand-to-hand narcotics transactions in the area of Neil Road and Moana Lane in Reno.
When detectives arrested Thompson, they said they found 205.70 grams gross weight of fentanyl on him, along with a loaded gun.
According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, the fentanyl seized has an estimated street value of more than $30,000 and is equivalent to nearly 103,000 lethal doses.
Thompson was booked into the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Detention Facility on charges of trafficking of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
