Food Bank of Northern Nevada (FBNN) is asking you to "Chip In, Chip Away at Hunger" starting on July 10.

#ChipInChipAway is a national day of giving that focuses on the local community, asking neighbors for any amount to help the food insecure in our area.

FBNN says that the need for food assistance is at a ten-year high, and more people need their assistance as grocery prices continue to go up.

Nonprofits like FBNN have experienced a sudden drop in funding as donors may now be facing financial challenges of their own.

They say that policy changes are creating hardships for many people, and cuts to government funding have left them with fewer resources to support everyone who needs food assistance.
