Update: 3:45pm:
More details have been uncovered by the Reno Fire Department concerning the gas leak.
The leak originated when a back hoe dug into a low-pressure gas line at a new construction site on Prototype Court.
NV Energy was on scene and stopped the leak quickly.
Nearby businesses were evacuated as a precaution, but there have been no injuries reported as a result of the leak. RFD determined that the leak was not dangerous.
All resulting street closures have been lifted.

Reno Fire Department is investigating a reported gas leak.
The leak was reported at 9591 Prototype Court in Reno.
Officers from the Reno Police Department were on site in addition to staff from NV Energy.
Traffic may be slow through Prototype Court as the road was temporarily blocked off. RPD has re-opened the street, but fire and police crews are remaining on scene.
