Damage to a gas line in the area has caused a leak that is forcing officials to close a portion of Spooner Lake State Park.
A portion of the Spooner Lake State Park Backcountry is closed after a contractor's construction crew damaged a high-pressure gas line, resulting in a gas leak.
The crew was working under the Nevada Public Works division.
Nevada State Parks is asking that everyone avoid the area of the park between Marlett Lake and Hobart Reservoir until a confirmation has been given that the gas leak has been fixed.
