Sparks Police arrested a 30-year-old man during an investigation into a missing 13-year-old runaway.
Sparks officers learned the runaway girl from California was staying with 30-year-old Jayro Silva of Sparks.
During the investigation they learned that Silva drove to California to meet the girl after they talked online. The girl also revealed to officers that they had a sexual relationship.
Silva was arrested on the following charges:
- Kidnapping, violation of NRS 200.310
- Sexual Assault of a Child Under the age of 14
- Lewdness with a Child Under the age of 14
- Luring a Child
The Sparks Police Department is using this incident to remind parents to talk to their children about the dangers of interacting with strangers online.
