High winds are affecting flights at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. You're advised to call your airline ahead of time to get the latest details.

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 5 p.m. for the greater Reno-Carson City-Minden areas.

We could see southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Wind prone areas could see gusts up to 65 mph.

On Sunday, gusts topped 80 to 100 miles per hour along the Sierra crest.

The National Weather Service says winds may knock down burned trees in the Davis Fire burn area in Washoe Valley.

If you're out on the roads, especially in high-profile vehicles, or planning to be on area lakes, be prepared for some tough conditions.

Light mountain snow and valley rain showers will start Monday and linger through Tuesday. Snow levels will hover between 6,500 and 7,000 feet, but could dip as low as 5,000 feet early Tuesday — meaning even the foothills might wake up to a dusting of snow. Don't expect much accumulation below 7,000 feet, though, thanks to recent warmer temperatures.
