Rob Haves

Tell us how you, your family, friends, co-workers, and even your animal friends are having fun in the winter weather.

Northern Nevada and surrounding California regions have seen several days of heavy snow, closing schools, businesses, and government offices.

With the snow piling up, 2 News Nevada crews have been getting outside when the opportunities arise, playing with horses, and exploring winter activities. Even our own Rob Haves had a little fun making a snow angel. Now the station is asking locals: what are you and your family doing in the snow?

Whether you’re having a snowball fight, making snow angels, skiing, sledding, or enjoying any other winter activity, 2 News Nevada wants to see your photos. Send them to producers@KTVN.com and let us know how to credit you. We will add them to a gallery and may even feature them on our newscasts.

The station wants to highlight all the ways communities are enjoying the snow, from skiing and sledding to neighborhood snowman contests. Your photos could appear in the gallery and possibly on air, showing how people across the region are making the most of the winter weather.

While we are highlighting the fun everyone is having, we also want to remind people to be careful while walking, driving, or participating in any outdoor activities, as icy conditions are present. Authorities say travel has been slowed or temporarily stopped in some areas, and drivers should exercise caution on icy or snow-covered roads.

Anyone enjoying activities in the mountains, Sierra, or backcountry should check conditions before heading out, as avalanche warnings are in effect and conditions remain hazardous.

Schools and businesses throughout the region continue to monitor conditions, and authorities encourage people to stay informed as more snow is expected throughout the week.
