The Joining Forces coalition of participating regional law enforcement agencies is announcing a new Impaired Driving Campaign for the end of this month.
The campaign runs from December 16, 2024 through January 3, 2025.
The goal of this particular campaign is to discourage impaired driving of any kind during the holiday season.
Officials want to remind you to 'Have a plan whether you're driving, riding or hosting.'
The coalition also provides the following safety tips for enjoying the holidays safely:
- Never drink and drive.
- Don't let someone get behind the wheel if that person has been drinking.
- If you're hosting a gathering, make sure everyone has a sober ride home.
- Call 911 if you see a drunk driver.
- Always wear your seat belt - it's your best defense against impaired drivers.
